Parliamentary aspirant for Oyam District, Jane Frances Acilo, has unveiled a five-year development agenda focused on strengthening essential public services.

While campaigning in Aber Subcounty, Acilo emphasized that her manifesto is rooted in improving people’s livelihoods through practical, people-centered initiatives.

She highlighted healthcare improvement as a top priority, pledging to advocate for better-equipped health facilities, increased medical staffing, and reliable access to essential drugs.

Acilo, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag-bearer, is competing against incumbent MP Santa Alum Ogwang and Etit Josephine of the Democratic Party.

She also promised to champion education development, including enhanced learning facilities, a school feeding program, teacher motivation initiatives, and stronger support for both primary and secondary schools to ensure children in Aber access quality education.

In addition, Acilo committed to lobbying for the rehabilitation of road networks across the district to ease transportation—particularly for farmers and small businesses that depend on road access to reach markets.

She further underscored the need to improve the produce market system, assuring residents that she has already taken steps to establish organized market spaces and strengthen farm-to-market linkages. According to Acilo, beginning this December, farmers in Oyam will sell maize at a minimum of UGX 1,000 per kilogram, following market arrangements she has secured.Access to reliable electricity also features prominently in her manifesto. Acilo expressed determination to advocate for expanded rural electrification so that households, schools, health centers, and small enterprises can benefit from consistent power supply
