First Lady Janet Museveni has made a public appearance after nearly four months, joining President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe to welcome international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn.
“Today, I joined H.E. the President in welcoming international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn to State House Entebbe,” Janet Museveni said in a post on X.
She described the meeting as “special and deeply nostalgic,” recalling Osborn’s late mother, who visited the Museveni family many years ago, prayed with them and gave each of their children their first Bible, along with one of her books.
“The memories of that visit remain very precious to our family,” she added.
President Museveni also confirmed the meeting, saying he and “Maama Janet” received Bishop Osborn at State House Entebbe. He said she is in Uganda ahead of the consecration of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo as a bishop.
President Museveni noted that Osborn recalled her first visit to Uganda in 1985, when she accompanied her late mother, who ministered to many Ugandans during a difficult period in the country’s history.
“Maama Janet also fondly recalled Dr. Osborn’s mother, who prayed with our family and gave our children their first Bibles,” he said.
The President said the meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on Uganda’s transformation over the years and the enduring friendship between the Osborn family and Uganda.
“I welcome Dr. Osborn back to Uganda and wish Pastor Patience a blessed consecration,” he said.
