St Gracious Senior Secondary School has set a new academic benchmark in the Lango sub-region after posting an outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams, with a remarkable 25 students scoring the maximum 20 points.
According to results released by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), on the 13th.March.2026,the school registered 489 candidates for the recently concluded examinations.
The top-tier performance was particularly impressive, with 18 students achieving 19 points and 22 students scoring 18 points.
The school’s headteacher, Mr. Martin Ojok Anyuru, expressed immense pride in the results, highlighting the depth of quality performance across the board.
Beyond the top scores, the school recorded a strong middle cluster,45 learners scored 15 points, 48 scored 14, 59 scored 13, and 51 scored 12 points.
The number of students in the lower brackets was minimal, with only 12 scoring seven points, seven scoring six, and just two scoring five points.
Mr. Anyuru attributed the success to a collaborative effort involving parents, teachers, and the school administration.
He specifically pointed to the growing confidence parents have in the institution as a key driver of success.
He noted that of the 25 students who attained the maximum 20 points, 15 were on bursaries. The gender parity among the top cohort was also notable, with 14 boys and 11 girls featuring among the highest scorers.
He singled out the dedication of the staff for special praise. “This success is largely due to the relentless effort of our teachers, especially those handling the critical Science combinations like Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics (BCM). Their commitment to going the extra mile for these learners has truly paid off,” he said.
The headteacher named some of the top students who made the school proud, including Achar Timothy, Awio Isaac, Amule Robinah, Aguti Vella Owiny, and Amono Ruth, among others.
Looking beyond the grades, Mr. Anyuru used the platform to send a strong message to the community regarding the importance of higher education. He expressed hope that the stellar performance would motivate more students in the Lango sub-region to complete A’Level and pursue university education, rather than halting their academic journey at Senior Four.
He emphasized that further education is a direct pathway to better job prospects and urged students to aim for postgraduate degrees to remain competitive in the modern job market.

In his concluding remarks, the headteacher offered direct advice to parents, pushing back against the trend of seeking education in the capital.
“I want to advise our parents against the common trend of sending their children all the way to Kampala for school,” Mr. Anyuru advised. “We have quality institutions right here at home. St Gracious is proof that local schools are equally capable of producing excellent results and securing government university scholarships for our learners. Let us invest in our own community.”
